TRATAMIENTO DE CONDUCTO DE UN PREMOLAR INFERIOR DE TRES CONDUCTOS
Keywords:
dentinogenesis, three root canals, lower premolarAbstract
The identification of anatomical variations in root canals prior to endodontic treatment is essential, especially in premolars, which present significant anatomical complexity (1). The use of radiographs and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is recommended to address these cases, reducing potential errors. The importance of magnification during intervention is highlighted. A case is presented of a 24-year-old male patient. On Intraoral Examination: dentinogenesis imperfecta type II (2) was observed; his reason for consultation was marked sensitivity to cold and episodes of spontaneous pain lasting about 30 seconds, localized in some teeth. Dentinogenesis imperfecta is a hereditary anomaly of the teeth, characterized by a defect in the formation of the organic matrix during the histodifferentiation stage of odontogenesis (3). On the other hand, the prevalence of three canals
according to Vertucci (4) and Awawdeh (5) was 0.5% and 2.2%, respectively, while Dr. Greco (6) did not find any prevalence. It is concluded that these advanced tools improve the accuracy and effectiveness in the treatment of complex cases.
