Abstract

Objective: To establish the relationship between organizational and operational stress and anxiety in police officers in the Tacna region. Materials And Methods: This was a basic, nonexperimental, correlational, and prospective study. The sample consisted of 372 police officers who worked in the Tacna region in 2021. To assess the impact of stressors, the 20-item Police Stress Questionnaire - Organizational (PSQ-ORG) and Operational (PSQ-OP) was used, along with the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) scale to measure anxiety. Results: The overall stress level was medium (50.8 %) and high (25.3 %), while the level of police operational and organizational stress was medium (48.4 % and 48.1 %, respectively). Most of the police officers did not show symptoms of anxiety (49.7%); however, 8.9% showed severe symptoms. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant correlation between organizational stressors and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
