Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • The manuscript is written in A-4 format, single-spaced, 2.5 cm margins and Times New Roman 12 font; and all illustrations, figures and tables are attached as images in JPG format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
  • The authors are health professionals or related professionals in the areas of Medicine, Obstetrics, Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Psychology, Nutrition, Medical Technology or Human Resources, with topics related to health.
  • The manuscript follows the structure suggested by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)

Author Guidelines

1. Submission

a) Authors must be healthcare professionals or from related fields such as Medicine, Obstetrics, Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Psychology, Nutrition, Medical Technology, or Human Resources, addressing health-related issues. Submissions can be made at institutional, regional, national, or international levels and must align with the journal’s editorial scope.

b) Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal's OJS platform: https://revista.hospitaltacna.gob.pe/index.php/rmhhut. All authors must register on the platform, but one will be designated as the corresponding author.

2. Structure

a) Manuscripts must follow the structure recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE):

  • Title page
  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • References
  • Tables
  • Illustrations (Figures)
  • Units of measurement
  • Abbreviations and symbols

b) The Title page must include the following:

  • Manuscript title in Spanish (maximum 20 words).
  • Manuscript title in English (maximum 20 words).
  • Full names of all authors.
  • ORCID IDs of the authors.
  • Institutional and academic affiliations.
  • Highest professional and/or academic degree of each author.
  • City and country of each author.
  • Corresponding author’s contact details, including postal address, phone number, and email.
  • Funding source (indicating whether the research was self-funded or supported by an institution).
  • Conflict of interest declaration.

c) The Abstract page must first include the abstract in Spanish (maximum 250 words) with the following structure:

  • Objective
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

d) Next, include the abstract in English following the same structure.

e) At the end of each abstract, include 3 to 5 keywords. These should be selected from the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS/MeSH): https://decs.bvsalud.org/es/.

f) The manuscript should be written in Spanish, using Microsoft Word, A-4 page size, 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins, and Times New Roman 12 font.

g) References must follow the guidelines in NLM’s Citing Medicine by the National Library of Medicine: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html.

h) Tables and illustrations must be submitted as JPG images with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
